Bio
Flag waversI grew up in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by Life and Look magazines and hundreds of photography books and cameras. My older brother, Nicholas, by 10 years, had a darkroom in the house and knew he wanted to be photographer from an early age. Even my mother was involved with photography, retouching negatives for portrait studios for more than 30 years.

I have participated in many group exhibitions and have won several international awards including: the 1998 Nikon International Calendar, a gold medal in Fotosport '96, Reus, Spain, numerous awards from the NY Audubon Society as well as the 2003 APA/NY competitions. In addition, a photograph from the marching band series was published in the The New York Times Magazine Sunday, August 13th, 2000 in the "What They Were Thinking" photography feature.

I am a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in history. In the late 70's, I lived in Spain for several years and from 1982 to 2003 lived in New York City where I worked in various aspects of the graphic arts industry and as an independent contract photographer. I currently reside in Birmingham, Alabama with my wife, Gail, where I work as a senior photographer for a large national magazine.

My photographs have been published worldwide in a variety of print and electronic media for editorial and advertising purposes.
